10 Injured in Head-On Collision in Tripura's Charilam

A serious road accident shook the Charilam area after a head-on collision between a passenger auto-rickshaw and a Maruti car near the petrol pump adjacent to Charilam Higher Secondary School under Sepahijala district. 

At least 10 people were injured in the incident, with one reported to be in critical condition.

According to local sources, the accident occurred suddenly when both vehicles, reportedly moving at high speed, collided head-on. The impact left several passengers from both the auto-rickshaw and the Maruti car severely injured. One individual sustained particularly critical injuries.

Local residents quickly alerted the fire brigade, which arrived at the scene and rescued the injured. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Police personnel also reached the spot soon after receiving the information. An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the accident. Traffic movement in the area was disrupted for some time following the incident.

Notably, residents have expressed growing concern over the increasing number of road accidents in the Charilam area in recent times.
