In a major anti-narcotics operation, Tripura Police recovered and seized 29.5 kg of dry ganja from the roadside along the Matinagar border area under Sonamura Police Station during a routine mobile patrol on Thursday.
According to police, the contraband was found abandoned and remained unclaimed. Following all legal formalities, the ganja was seized as unclaimed property.
Police have launched an investigation to identify the individuals involved and ascertain the intended owner of the illegal consignment.
The estimated market value of the seized ganja is approximately ₹5.9 lakh, police said. Further investigation is underway.
