The Higher Education Department of the Government of Tripura has issued a notification cancelling the previously declared 26-day summer vacation for all General Degree Colleges, Professional Colleges, and Technical Institutes under its control.

As per Notification No. F.2(19-33)-DHE/UDCA/2016/1771, the summer vacation scheduled from May 25, 2026 to June 18, 2026 has been withdrawn in the interest of students and academic requirements.

The department has directed that all colleges will continue to function during this period to carry out essential academic and administrative responsibilities. These include the admission process for the academic session 2026–27, even semester examinations, and other institutional work.

Leave Provision for Staff

Although the vacation has been cancelled, faculty members and staff working in colleges will be granted 26 days of Earned Leave on a proportionate basis, depending on their attendance during the said period. The provision will apply only for the current academic year.

The order has been issued with the approval of the competent authority and is applicable exclusively for this academic session.
