The ‘Bochor Bachao’ supplementary examination is expected to commence by July 6, according to Dr. Dhananjay Ganga Choudhury, President of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), who addressed reporters on Tuesday.

Dr. Choudhury stated that the supplementary examination is traditionally conducted within two months of the publication of the board examination results. Students who have failed in up to two subjects will be eligible to appear for the examination and get an opportunity to improve their results without losing an academic year.

He also informed that the deadline for submitting applications for re-evaluation of answer scripts has already expired. However, students can still apply for self-inspection of their answer scripts until June 9. Once this process is completed, all activities related to the current academic year’s board examinations will come to an end.

The bochor bachao initiative is widely regarded as an important measure in the education sector, as it provides students with a second chance to clear their examinations and continue their academic journey without interruption.

Parents and education experts have welcomed the initiative, noting that it not only helps reduce students’ mental stress but also prevents the loss of an entire academic year due to narrowly missing the pass mark. They believe the scheme enables many deserving students to pursue higher education with renewed confidence and motivation.
