As a precursor to the 12th International Yoga Day, the Red Shield Division under Spear Corps, in collaboration with the Civil Administration, organised a Yoga session at the historic Ujjayanta Palace on 30 May 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by Army personnel, reaffirming their commitment to physical fitness, mental well-being and a healthy lifestyle through the practice of yoga.

Held against the majestic backdrop of Ujjayanta Palace, one of Tripura’s most prominent cultural landmarks, the event highlighted the harmony between India’s ancient yogic traditions and the rich cultural heritage of the North East. The serene ambience of the venue added significance to the occasion, promoting the message of wellness, unity and inner balance.

The session included a series of yoga asanas, pranayama exercises and meditation practices aimed at enhancing physical health, emotional stability and resilience. Participants were encouraged to incorporate yoga into their daily lives as an effective means of achieving holistic wellness and managing stress in today’s fast-paced environment.

The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued commitment towards fostering wellness, social cohesion and cultural integration through community-oriented activities. The event concluded with a message of peace, harmony and collective well-being, embodying the spirit of International Yoga Day and reinforcing the enduring values of the Indian Army.
