A large-scale house-to-house census exercise will begin on August 1 and continue until August 31, followed by a second phase of data collection based on household questionnaires in March next year.

As part of the preparations, a training workshop for supervisors and in-charge officials engaged in the first phase of census work was organized on Friday. The workshop was conducted under the initiative of the District Administration of West District.

According to Dr. Bishal Kumar, households will be able to share their information through a mobile application between July 17 and July 31. He further stated that this year’s census will integrate community-based data collection, including a combined set of questions covering demographic and communal aspects.

The administration has emphasized that the census is a large and important exercise requiring cooperation from all residents. Enumerators will visit households and collect responses based on the prepared questionnaire.

The District Magistrate appealed to the public to provide accurate information to the census officials to ensure the success and accuracy of the exercise.

The census is being carried out across West District, Tripura, India with the aim of improving data-driven planning and governance.
