The Tripura unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday launched a massive protest rally in Agartala, with state party president Abhishek Debroy accusing the Congress and its senior leader Rahul Gandhi of attempting to create instability and obstruct the country’s development.

The protest march, led by Debroy, saw the participation of state ministers, MLAs, and senior BJP leaders. The rally later culminated in a demonstration outside the Tripura Congress Bhawan in Agartala.

Addressing the gathering, Debroy alleged that Congress leaders were involved in efforts to weaken the country’s progress and create division among people. He claimed that the BJP would continue to oppose any move that threatens national unity and development.

“Attempts are being made to disturb the stability and progress of India. However, the country’s democracy remains strong under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and people from all sections of society stand with his vision,” Debroy said.

Targeting Rahul Gandhi, the BJP state president alleged that the Congress leader was spreading criticism against the government while ignoring issues that, according to him, require public attention. He also accused Congress of engaging in activities aimed at creating unrest in the country.

Referring to recent political protests, Debroy claimed that the opposition party was diverting attention from key issues and instead targeting the Prime Minister and the Hindu community.

He further alleged that Congress had historically worked for “family-based politics,” while claiming that the BJP was focused on delivering welfare schemes and development initiatives to people at the grassroots level.

The BJP leader said that the party and its affiliated organisations would continue to oppose what he described as attempts to undermine India’s unity and progress.
