In a major success against property-related crimes, West Agartala Police recovered stolen gold ornaments valued at around ₹35 lakh and traced 25 lost mobile phones, while arresting 10 individuals allegedly involved in separate theft incidents.
West Tripura Superintendent of Police (SP) Namit Pathak informed that two theft cases were registered at West Agartala Police Station on April 9 and April 23. Following the complaints, police launched intensive investigations using intelligence inputs and advanced tracking methods.
The operations, conducted across multiple locations in Agartala, led to the recovery of the stolen jewelry and missing mobile devices. Police also apprehended all 10 suspects believed to be connected with the two cases.
SP Pathak stated that legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused and further investigation is continuing to uncover any additional links related to the thefts.
As per court directives, the recovered valuables were handed over to their rightful owners on Sunday. The distribution ceremony was attended by SP Namit Pathak along with other senior police officials.
Highlighting the department’s commitment to public service, the SP said that the police will continue efforts to trace lost and stolen property and ensure its return to the owners. The recovery operation has brought considerable relief to the affected families.
